Technically curious
I like understanding how software, automation and systems actually work — not just what the sales page says.
About StudioGro
Cut through the noise. StudioGro compares software, tools and technology to help you find what actually fits your business — without paying for features or complexity you don’t need.
Experience across industries
I’m Jason, the founder of StudioGro. My background sits at the intersection of technology, leadership, customer experience and business improvement. I’ve worked in IT systems and consultancy across a broad mix of industries and organisations, alongside leadership in education settings.
My technology experience has included work across international banking, aviation, real estate and local, state and federal government environments. That breadth has given me a practical view of how different organisations choose, implement and actually use technology.
I’ve also worked in leadership in education settings, where technology decisions have to make sense for real people, real workloads and real-world constraints.
I’m technically minded and genuinely enjoy getting under the hood of software, automation and digital systems. But I don’t think technology needs to sound complicated to be valuable.
Think of me as the IT guy you’d actually like to have a beer with. I enjoy taking technical concepts, stripping away the jargon and explaining them in a way that’s easy to understand and useful for making a business decision.
Why StudioGro
I’ve spent years leading people, implementing systems, solving operational problems and working out how technology can make organisations run better — not just add another layer of complexity.
The best technology isn’t necessarily the product with the longest feature list. It’s the one that solves the right problem, is easy for people to actually use, and delivers a worthwhile return for the business.
That’s where my customer-focused background matters. Good systems need to work for the people using them and ultimately create a better experience for the customer.
Whether it’s managing leads, following up enquiries, automating repetitive work or choosing the right platform to grow with, I ask two questions: what can it technically do, and will it actually make the business better?
How I think
I like understanding how software, automation and systems actually work — not just what the sales page says.
Think of me as the IT guy you’d actually like to have a beer with — someone who can explain technical concepts in plain English without the jargon.
Technology only works when the people using it understand it, trust it and actually want to use it.
Every tool should save time, reduce friction, improve service or help generate revenue.
I look at systems from the customer’s side as well as the business’s.
The most powerful solution isn’t always the best solution. I favour tools that solve the problem without unnecessary complexity.
StudioGro is about finding the right fit, not simply recommending whichever product has the biggest feature list.
My rule is pretty simple
I created StudioGro to cut through software marketing and explain what works, who it works for, what you actually need and where you could be wasting money.
